Land three miles from town and be on the mountain the same afternoon. The runway is at about 7,800 feet in a narrow valley, so the aircraft and the crew matter more here than almost anywhere, and we recommend aircraft with that in mind.

Choosing the aircraft
For two to four skiers, a light jet is the economical choice. With six or more and full ski bags, a midsize or super-mid gives you the room. We’ll show you both.
When Aspen closes
Snow and low cloud can shut the airport at short notice. Eagle County (EGE), about 70 miles by road, is the backup on every winter trip, with a car ready if you need it.
