Hayden or Spokane
Coeur d’Alene Airport (COE) mainly serves private aircraft and has a 7,400-foot runway. Spokane International (GEG) is about 32 miles west on I-90, roughly 40 minutes by car, with an 11,000-foot runway.
After 5 p.m. at COE
COE has no control tower, the airport is staffed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and runway conditions aren’t maintained overnight. For a late landing or a winter storm, we’ll plan on Spokane, which is staffed around the clock.
Staying down the lake
