Land at Bozeman in the evening and be at Big Sky about an hour later, after the drive up Gallatin Canyon. In summer, Yellowstone Airport opens a second way in from the south.

Evenings into Bozeman

Bozeman Yellowstone International (BZN), about 50 miles north of Big Sky, is the year-round choice. Its tower is open from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., so an evening arrival is rarely a problem.

Up Gallatin Canyon

Rideshare apps aren’t reliable around Big Sky, so we’ll book a car to meet you at the aircraft. The road is Highway 191, much of it through Gallatin Canyon, and the drive takes about an hour, longer in snow.

Yellowstone Airport in summer

From May to October you can also land at Yellowstone Airport (WYS), next to West Yellowstone, the park’s west gateway. It’s about 45 miles south of Big Sky and closed from October 31 to May 1, so winter trips go through Bozeman.
